    bluetooth advertisements

Oh goody....pop up ads on our cell phones, that's just what we all need.

Commuters with discoverable Bluetooth handsets passing within 100 meters of the billboards were sent a message asking if they'd like to receive the Coldplay content, which included video interviews, music clips and still images.

I dont know too much about bluetooth, but are users charged for messages?

For example, when I recieve text messages on my phone, I am charged for each message I receive. Does that translate to bluetooth?

    Hi

Bluetooth technology is operator free. No service poerator holds control over it. It is a type of Personal Area Network and works for short ranges. It is upto the user to accept the message. It is ot charged as it is operator free and depends only on the capability of device and in this case a cellphone.
