    Will do....

Since I've never been a big fan of removing hotfixes and updates, I'm just going through and doing some spyware scans, etc.. makeing sure it's nothing like that.

OK I know this probably sounds stupid but:

    1. This is a problem one one machine that is not replicated on similar machines?
    2. The icon got changed but still didn't work?

I am wondering if it is not something as simple as the file associations having gotten screwed up on this machine? That would certainly explain the box not displaying?

I recognise the second icon but cannot remember what it is

As long as you did this to one of these, the least of my little ones............you did it unto Me.

    Also remember

If you roll back the patch...and it works...
You can contact ms...free and get a fix seeing it is related to the application of a *critcal* security patch...

I am sure you are not the first one with this issue.

It is related to the locking down of reg permissions...may be a AD policy...or some registry utility

    Hey Hey,

    1. The problem is only on one machine and only on IE... haven't seen it replicated elsewhere... Tomorrow night (friday) is my nightly clean-up... everyone goes home a lil earlier than usual and I stay late to fix computers... I'm going to test the rest of the 2000 machines in the office see if it's reproduced anywhere.

    2. That's correct.

MLF: Thanks.. I didnt get a chance to rollback today so it's on my list for tomorrow..
