Making Sigs and Avatars

I was just wondoring where I could get started making my own custom sigs i.e. some tutorials, programs, or whatever is needed.

Not sure but some people I've met on the net who have ' custom sigs ' use Dreamweaver, a gif animator application like Coffee Cup Advanced Gif Animator, or use Photoshop...to a lesser extent you could use Photo Explosion or the Imaging application by Microsoft...

tutorials are very easy to find via google, I'd suggest a few but there are so many that it'd be better if you picked the ones best suited to your experience and needs, .
