    hi,

I'm looking for a simple debug command that will work in any version of dos/windows to find the MAC address.

    Hey Hey,

What's wrong with just using ipconfig/all? It will return the Mac Address for you.

    Peace,

Or arp -a ? If you know your IP you can filter it with arp -a <IP> ...
There is only one constant, one universal, it is the only real truth: causality. Action. Reaction. Cause and effect...There is no escape from it, we are forever slaves to it. Our only hope, our only peace is to understand it, to understand the 'why'. 'Why' is what separates us from them, you from me. 'Why' is the only real social power, without it you are powerless.

the machines i need the mac address for are not connected to the network.

When i boot from a Win98 CDROM/bootdisk...ipconfig and winipcfg and arp do not work.

when i copy other files...such as getmac.exe, they return a msg saying cannot run in dos mode.

The programs i'm trying to use...ipconfig, etc. seem to want some type of networking installed before they'll give me the mac address...

I just need a quick down & dirty way of getting the mac address without having to create special boot disks and tons of files...

should be pretty easy...debug runs on all ms systems
