    Error 1619 Windows Installer

I have downloaded Alcohol 120% from the internet.
When I tried to install it i get the following message:

This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

I tried to re-download the application and still get the same error.
I tried downloading different versions from different sites and still get the same error.
I tried upgrading to Windows Installer package 3.1 and still get the same error.
I have a Windows XP SP1 OS. The only thing that I can think of doing is upgrading to SP2.
Is there any other option besides upgrading to SP2?

You do mean that you've downloaded a trial version of Alcohol 120% don't you.

    But anyway ...

If you get that error and you say you have Windows XP with SP1 then that error should normally be resolved. see this list or see this article . It's a known problem so it seems. (took me 2 minutes to find through this ).
What you can do is indeed install SP2 to see if it resolves the issue ..or check if the security on the file/directory/folder isn't set too high ...see if you're the owner of the file (if your box is multiuser for example)...and so on ...

Let us know if it helped.

    Thanks

Yes it is the 30 day trial version that I have downloaded.

I am currently installing SP2 and hopefully this will fix the problem.

    Thanks for all the help.

i had a lot of trouble with the trial version. most of the needed tools were dis-abled in the trial version, you'd probably be better in just going to the store and purchasing the full version..

May i ask what you needed that pacific program for.?.
As i'm not sure as to why you just don't use nero, it seems to get the job done..?

    cheers

I installed SP2 and everything is sweet.

I just needed that program because I borrowed a program from work(SOE) which happens to be done on a Alcohol image. My work has a full version Alcohol 120% and I didn't think it would be wise if I borrowed the full version from work to use it at home.

Anyway I didn't think Clone CD could extract an Alcohol image.
