    Now...this may come as a feature with newer OPS...or be well known...but I found it and it's free so here it is anyways ...

    Hey Hey,

    Let's take a look at the various software available

    GnuPG - It's free but it's command line (http://www.gnupg.org)

    WinPT that Trevoke has posted (http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/~twoaday/winpt.html) - It seems to just be a front-end for GPG (I've never used it)

    GPGee - GnuPG Explorer Extension... I use this one frequently.. it's a front-end for GPG that gives you the ability to sign and encrypt by right clicking on the file. This makes the functionality similar to PGP... (http://gpgee.excelcia.org/)

    PGP -- It's not free... in fact sometimes it's rather costly but at the Enterprise level it is King... especially with it's Exchange Integration.. (www.pgp.com)

    AxCrypt -- Free Software -- AES-128 Encryption... It's actually really nice... It adds Encrypt, Encrypt and Copy and Encrypt to EXE (self Extracting File) to the explorer menu... It also gives you a Secure delete option (http://axcrypt.sourceforge.net/)

    Cryptainer LE -- Free Software but limited... You are limited to 25MB Containers unless you buy the full version.. If that's fine with you then it's all good... This one is unique because of how it works.. It creates container files... your files are stored there... Now comes the interesting part.. Your container file is mounted as a Removeable Disk.. You enter the password to mount it and then when you 'eject' it... you need the password to remount it and access the files... You can also create self extracting executables to send by email... It contains an inconspicuous little add for their full version but it doesn't hinder you in the least. (http://www.cypherix.co.uk/cryptainerle/?sc_w2ks)

    One last one that I wanted to add, for those that want email encryption without the high price of pgp..

    CiphireMail -- Free -- Works with Linux, Windows and OS X provides in client mail encryption for several email clients... It also works quite nicely (https://www.ciphire.com/)

    Either way, any of these pieces of software is a great little tool to have around.

    Peace,
    HT

    Main Features - from website

    Highly secure encryption with a single mouse click (without entering password or key);
    Secure communication with other users of FineCrypt;
    Creation of encrypted archives with which you can work like with zip-archives;
    Creation of encrypted self-extracting executables, which can be decrypted without FineCrypt;
    Encryption of files, directories and whole directory trees;
    Encryption with password or with user encryption key;
    Advanced key management;
    Secure delete feature;
    Statistical analysis of ciphertext;

    Cryptainer LE limits a encrypted virtual disk to 25MB. A better choice would be TrueCrypt http://www.truecrypt.org which is open source and does not has the size limitation.

    Main Features:

    * It can create a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mount it as a real disk.

    * It can encrypt an entire hard disk partition or a device, such as USB memory stick, floppy disk, etc.

    * Provides two levels of plausible deniability, in case an adversary forces you to reveal the password:

    1) Hidden volume (more information may be found here).

    2) No TrueCrypt volume can be identified (TrueCrypt volumes cannot be distinguished from random data).

    * Encryption algorithms: AES-256, Blowfish (448-bit key), CAST5, Serpent (256-bit key), Triple DES, and Twofish (256-bit key). Supports cascading (e.g., AES-Twofish-Serpent).

    * Based on Encryption for the Masses (E4M) 2.02a, which was conceived in 1997.
