    security advisories

    hi
    just wondering for the security personnel out there,
    do you disseminate security advisories to your company's staff ? and if you do, which sites are the better ones in terms of newest and latest news on anything regarding security? eg viruses, etc etc.
    The idea is to keep our staffs informed of the latest security threats, technology etc etc but also not too technical.

    Hmmm, I'm not sure but I used to go to http://metasploit.com/ for those kind of thing. Also try http://www.securiteam.com/exploits/.

    Hi ghostmachine,

    Secunia is one of my favourites. It is very up to date and has recorded vulnerabilities for just about every app, as well as a handy "Last 10 Virus Alerts" section.

    Another good site is SecurityFocus, but that's more for specific products than what I think you're looking for. Also SecuriTeam's Security News (not exploits as posted above).

    For viruses, Symantec is king.
