    monitoring bandwidth usage on a small LAN?

    Does anyone know of any software I can use to monitor bandwidth usage on a small LAN? I"m currently using ethereal off of Kinnopix STD.

    Maybe you can try LanSpeed or IPTraf. I also use Sniffer from network associates.

    this will allow you to graphically see what services are being used and how much bandwidth they are using
    chown -r us ./bases

    Sorry i must have been brain dead yesterday its not LanSpeed its actually called Lan network

    You can also try IRIS . There is a trial version available too.

    I use Airopeek for wireless and Airo* for wired. *=I forgot the name of the product. I'm thinking Aironet. There are torrents available.

    MRTG is nice, but currently I prefer Cacti.

    It can be a replacement for both MRTG and Nagios.
