    Download problems

    Hi, I got a problem with downloading stuff from the internet
    i disabled my antivirus and windows firewall, went into internet
    options and maxed out cache space......still i cannot download
    i checked my DSL connection that is good......I checked my user
    priveledges...good... still i cannot download....any advice
    to fix this would be helpful........

    What types of stuff can you not download? Just surfing the web in a web browser is downloading stuff, and I'm assuming you had to do that to get here and post. Did you have to use another computer/connection to post here, or are you using another application to download stuff and that's what's not working?

    i cannot download software off of internet sights, and
    i am on the same computer i always use sometimes the
    download works sometimes it doesnt...very troubling

    Do you get any messages?

    Normally I would expect a prompt asking if you want to run it or save it to disk?

    Have you tried "open in a new window"

    Have you tried a different browser.

    If you are using Internet Explorer, please check your security settings and check that "enable/allow file downloads" is checked.

    i am using yahoo DSL browser when the download pops up i see
    the little paper from the world going to the folder but it just stays like
    that froze in time no MG downloading to it then i downloaded firefox
    and when it stays froze on "starting...." and doesnt download either

    Maybe something wrong with the site you are trying to download from...

    Can you download from another site...say microsoft.com??

    If you can give me an example of a site where you have this problem I can try to provoke the problem on one of my boxes.

    What operating system are you using?

    What are your "certificates" settings?

    Are you saving to disk or doing direct installs?
