Problem in Exporting Reports in Adobe...

    Hi gals / guys...

There is a local software develop in VB...... and we use to export some reports from it in pdf format..... Now from last few days i am experiencing a problem in one of the client..... The issue is that although the user is able to export the pdf file, but when it is send to someone via email, the receiver couldn't open the file.... It gives the message

There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.

Now we have re-install the crystal report and adobe too but still the problem remains there.....

What could possibly the cause of this error?

Which software is raising this issue?

Is there a possibility that outlook might be the issue here.? As the same software running perfectly alright on other system.

We had a problem with Acrobat 6 and an application and had to revert to Version 5 as per adobe support.

    What OS??

What versions of Crystal ? Adobe?

You say it works on other machines...same OS and application versions???

What antivirus...maybe scanning as it is creating and corrupting the file??

Where is the file being created...locally or on a network share??

    Printer re-install

We experienced what you described. On the computer that could not open the pdf we ended up re-installing all of the printers. This direction was per Adobe. Hope this helps.

Adobe stated also that there could be other causes: maleware, virus, spyware, file corruption on harddrive, hardware issues with some type of memory i.e. ram or cache.

Adobe version 5, crystal report 8.... OS windows XP SP2 , AV norton Corporate.....

Well the other system has the same configuration like this one..... What doubt i have is that it might be some issue of the Outlook, as when we directly copy that file to any network drive and access from there it works fine, only when it is emailed it get corrupted......
