Birth of a peer to peer network
I just recently put together my very own peer to peer network. I now have IPX (for gaming), ftp, http, and the standard windows networking features (of course). I am overjoyed and couldn't hold it in so I figured that I would tell my friends at AO. I will be working on the http and ftp sites as well as security soon and that is sure to be just as fun as setting up the network. I am really enthusiastic about this project.

Huh? ... IPX?
Can you explain why are you using IPX/SPX stack. What OS is this?

Well, both boxes are running Windows xp, but the game that I installed requires IPX in order to do LAN games (it's Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2, by the way)

I seriously doubt that. CCRA2 came out in 2k. But you'll learn why.

well, unhappy (and I'm sorry that you are...lol), but everything else that I tried would not work. The only solution to my LAN problem pertaining to the game was to install IPX/SPX support and the Novell client. (go figure)
