Interesting. If you're looking to challenge yourself, why are you asking for help? Wouldn't asking for help indicate defeat?

I'm pretty sure the dll isn't self modifying, I think you are having a problem with dynamic linking orders, something that causes your jump to jump to the wrong place, your better off just gutting the whole routine.
