does anyone know a portable mp3 that works flawlessly w/ linux

first i wanted ipod but then I saw this and wanted to get it but it works on some M$ proprietary protocol. does anyone know of any other mp3 player besides ipod that works w/ linux

i belive you can get most USB based mp3 players to work with linux... when i ran SUSE10 they would just show up as USB thumbdrives... load what you want and go.

ipods are nice but now that everyone has them they have really lost there status symbol...

it used to be "HEY i have an iPod"

now the second thing you ask a stranger when you introduce yourselves is "what iPod do you have?"... that is how it is around here at least...
