Chances are backtrack doesnt support your wireless cards chip set, you may need to end up getting a pcmcia card that has a prism or orinoco (lucent) chipset. Theres a few other chip sets that work without having to use driver wrappers. But if your planning on using wireless with a linux distro your going to have to research what chipsets will work with the distro that your planning on using.

Coincidently, I have been working at the same thing for a bit today. Not licked yet (linux noob ) but I have stumbled on a few things that might help.
When it comes to wireless and backtrack, you are far better to buy something that has been tested rather than trying to make it work. Here is a list of tested cards :
http://forums.remote-exploit.org/arc...php/t-119.html
But you already know that. Instead, you can try these workarounds :
Open source - http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/List
Commercial (30 day trial, abt $ 20 US) - http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/
Good luck.
