Powerpoint heads up
This is a link to an ITPlanet article at the top of our front page:
There is a zeroday exploit for Powerpoint. Not rocket science in itself, but there are quite a few people who don't realise that Powerpoint can contain malware just like the very familiar Excel and Word ones?
If you work in an environment where you have Powerpoint you may want to give your users a reminder?
Obviously, the answer is NOT to open stuff from people you don't know and never click on attachments you are not expecting.................but you know what people are like?

Im guessing this only affects powerpoint and hopefully not the open office version as well.

To be honest with you spamdies I wouldn't like to take a chance on that, given that Open Office pretty much emulates everything in MS Office.
I am not sure if the PowerPoint Viewer is at risk, given that:
The following Microsoft PowerPoint features are not supported by this viewer:
* Information Rights Management (IRM) presentations.
* Running macros, programs, or opening linked or embedded objects. <-------

MS say they will have a fix for August 8th.
