    Smile EWIDO v. 4 RELEASED

EWIDO version 4.0 has now been released. If you try to run the old version with an internet connection active you will be virtually forced to get the upgrade.

Download it then go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the old version. Then reboot and run the installation package for version 4.

This one has a 30-day trial of the full application then reverts to a manual on demand status just like v. 3.5 did. This is still free.

If you have a paid for version you will need your old authorisation code, and will be issued with a new one.

On the corporate news side, they have now merged with Grisoft (AVG) who have a long history of providing freeware versions to private users, so hopefully this will continue
If you cannot do someone any good: don't do them any harm....
As long as you did this to one of these, the least of my little ones............you did it unto Me.
What profiteth a man if he gains the entire World at the expense of his immortal soul?

Great site! Used it repeatedly when cleaning up peoples computers.
Ewido's site is useful for scanning/removing nasty malware. They provide a free online scan which when compared to some other antispyware software comes out on top. Although, the free online scan portion requires you to use Internet Explorer due to usage of ActiveX
Additionally, it may ask you to install a plugin to perform the remote scan. You MAY have to restart your browser or do I dare say, even reboot after it installs the plugin to get the scan to work properly....sometimes you have to fudge around with those online scanners but I think its worth the piece of mind.

    The free online scan URL:

If the scan finds anything, it will display it in list form.... put a checkmark in the box and then remove whatever you deem baaaad. Pretty straight forward and simple.
