    Google Acting Weird?

Hi, All night tonight ( 8/8/06) Google has been acting weird. everything I type ANYTHING in the search field it gives me something about my search seemed like spyware to them? It happens when I use Firefox or IE. it also happens if I use the regular Google homepage to search or my Google Toolbar. I attached a screenshot HERE for yall to take a look.
    anyone else having this issue?

btw, I have run antivirus/spyware scans and my pc is clean as far as I can tell. If i have to enter that damn text every single time I wanna search that is going to be annoying!

    I've had this before.

In my case it was FasterFox prefetching stuff that caused it.

I wonder if your proxy is doing something similar (if you're behind one)?

    Cheers

    Hi Tex

What about http://uk.ask.com/ or http://www.dogpile.com/ , try another search engine and compare the results.....

today (still 8/8/06 but later lol) I started my pc and Google works fine now in FF and IE that weird screen is gone. Other search engines arent giving me any trouble thanx to all who responded.

But this is soooo weird can this really just be a fluke?

I can't check right now, but I recall reading something like this
recently. Effectively, Google is blacklisting certain types of requests
because, as they say, it resembles some sort of abuse ie.
automated searches that stress their capacity etc. You may
see more of this as the net gets more crowded.
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

Google just recently started marking searches to pages that have spyware/malware/viruses/trojans... so I wonder if your error message has anything to do with that.

Perhaps they were testing something and it accidentally went in production?

A google search can turn up a lot of info on the issue.

it doesn't really mean that you were the one doing it. It could have been somebody on the same network as you if you are on a LAN, or it could be someone else on your local neighborhood network if you are on a cable modem...

If you are using a dial-up ISP it could be somebody else on your ISP... Normally these blocks are put in place on an entire range of IP's. It goes away after awhile when google clears the block.

So again, perfectly normal to get it now.. Unfortunately all you can do is wait for google to clear the block on your network.
