    Indian Phishing Scam: ICICI BANK

    Hi

Just got this news n I was astonished to see that!

A hacker or a grp of hackers have made an exact replica of the ICICI BANK(famous indian bank). Surprisingly, both the sites have secured SSL from Verisign !!!!

    all ICICI BANK users.......beware !!

Please be aware of the duplicate ICICI Bank site available in the internet.

This is one of the worst phishing scam ever seen.
Here are the both the URLs, they are same, except there is a space (%20) at
the end of the phishing URL.

    *The wrong one*

    https://infinity.icicibank.co.in/BAN...e&abrdPrf=N%20

    *Actual ICICI Site*

    https://infinity.icicibank.co.in/BAN...rate&abrdPrf=N

Please tell all ur friends......ICICI Bank users to be cautious enough and tell them to check the link first!!!!

    Hmmmm,

You need to think how this might work?

I guess you can discount people typing the wrong URL.......... most would have that saved in favourites or an icon on their desktop.

That leaves the fraudsters with the problem of getting someone to use the fake URL?

It would have to be an e-mail? so I guess this is not that different from all the others?

Basically there is a simple rule: if you have a bank that does or would send you an e-mail asking you to provide any personal details............... you need a NEW BANK!
