Thread: Mount hda1 using Live iso in VMware.

    So ultimately the answer is no. When you boot with the ISO, the OS "owns" the disks and is able to mount. If you attempt to access with a limited account, you only see what that user sees.

    This was all just for not booting from the actual live CD just in case their was ever a BIOS password, you pretty much knew what I wanted to do when I mentioned the %systemroot%\system32\config path. But I suppose this will be an unfinished project. Unless someone can come up with something.
