So far I can't reproduce this issue. Have been logged in with FF, from the main page, for half hr or so. Went back and forth between forum and main page, left the browser idle for 20 minutes, no problems yet.

Couple hrs and can't get FF to knock me off the site. I have to conclude this is some kind of cookie or setting issue. Either an old cookie remains from the old site, or javascript is disabled, or the cookie is being blocked.

hrm, I have reproduced this on a box that has never visited this site before, and was a clean install with default settings in FF and no plugins enabled.

    Hi Guys,

I have been getting this in FF quite regularly, and with the frequency increasing.

Now, I know that I have been kicked out for a variety of things that I tend to do out of force of habit, like opening in new window/tab, exiting instead of returning, etc.

    I tried this:

    1. Latest version of CrapCleaner
    2. Clear all stuff on exit from FF
    3. Make sure all Window updates are in place
    4. Clear all private data in FF "tools" option

It has been running for quite a while now without kicking me off............

You might like to give that a go?

    Cheers

I can't explain it. FF isn't my main browser and I just use it to check sites in, so maybe that has something to do with it. But then you said you tried it on a box that's never been here before either, so I just can't track this issue down, especially since I can't reproduce it.

    Joe,

Perhaps our best bet is if they try what I suggested? I will have a go using Mozilla and Opera in the morning (it is getting late here) and then we can see if it is a browser related thing?

    Cheers

OH! I also went into the Taskbar and Start Menu in Windows, and cleared the recent documents stuff as well.

I can reproduce this problem with Win 2000 SP4/5 and Win XP SP2. I will also try it on a Win ME box as well, but I will have to apply the patches.

Whatever works. I can't get it to happen in any browser so far. I've tried the big 3.

OK, this will fry you ( if you are not already )

Logged in from main page, ( FireFox, old cookies were deleted )

Opened the Forum Index in new window ( not tab )

Went into Addicts, created a new thread, then, after about 7 minutes, closed that window.

The main screen was still there in the first window, I hit the refresh key, it showed the log in boxes again like I had been kicked off.

Now, I refreshed a few times, but then saw along the left side I was logged in ( still showed the log in boxes. )

I tried opening a few pages in same window, still told me I had to log in.

Then I hit the Antionline Forums, and suddenly I was listed as logged in again!

Well I hope you can find some way to sort this problem out, its becoming almost unmanageable, having to re-login very time you hit the site.
