Whois
How can you find out what company is hosting a particular website, (if they don't already reference it in the site itself)?
I tried sam spade, and a couple of other whois sites, but none of them could find this url - no matches found.
Any insight would be splendid thankyou.

I usually use www.netcraft.com to do a banner grab for me, as well as WHOIS query. Cheers, cn22

Try www.dnsstuff.com
And ping the URL to pick up the ip address. A whois on an ip address will often yield who does the actual hosting vs. who owns the name.
