    L2TP tunnels

    Hi all,

I would like to get L2TP tunnel connection using my Ubuntu system. I have setup at work Juniper firewall and all is well connecting from windows but i still have not found any decent Linux software. I tried so far PPTP client and L2TP client but non of them work i always get error connection timed out. I would be greatfull for any good ideas on a good L2TP client.

What specific feature of L2TP are you trying to leverage? Layer 2 protocol?Confedentiality won't be addressed if you use L2TP by itself nor will strong auth be addressed unless you encapsulate it with IPSec. Just curious what the benefit is to you.

I do use IPsec as well but its just the way i manage my remote network. I just cannot get linux to connect to VPN. Windows works just fine. All other clients have private IP ranges so thats the only way i can actually get to those servers.
