    Dialup adapter simulation

I have been studying the "Hayes Command Set" for dialup modems amungst other things and am just wondering if there exists a simulator or application which I could type these commands and get responces. OS is Windows Server 2003 R2

I guess some would question my resoning and sugest I install a dialup adapter. I dont have a working dialup adapter from the tests I have done with one I found in my drawr it does not work. Also to utilize the 10 free hours of my dsl service I am instructed that I cannot use both dialup and the dsl simultaniusly thus cutting off internet access to my LAN.

Is there such a simulation program that anyone here knows about it would be helpfull.

Get a cheap POTS (plain old telephone system) modem.. They shouldn't be too expensive these days.. You don't need a dialup adaptor to use those Hayes commands.. You only need a dialup adaptor if you want to connect to the Internet with a modem. A modem and a terminal emulator would be enough.. Even HyperTerminal (standard windows terminal emulator) would do..
