    Minor new feature

The old version of the forum used a cookie timeout to mark threads read. That meant that after a certain amount of time logged in (900 seconds) threads would be marked read, even if you hadn't opened them. In this version there's the option to store that info in a table, so that the only way threads/forums will be marked read, is if you actually open them, or intentionally mark them read. Just a head's up.

    JP,

Is it possible to get a "mark forums read" tab onto the display new posts page so one doesn't have to backpedal to select the tab at the top before logging out?

    Thanks

There's one on every page, in the navbar under quick links dropdown

    Thanks

Just seeing that link for the first time. I was looking for it at the bottom of the page like it is on the "top" page of the forums.

For individual forums, it's under forum tools dropdown.

any chance of having a quick link to "recent threads" that you've posted in? Or is there one that already exists, instead of going to see all my posts through my profile? Would be handy, almost like a complete forum (Hardware, Operating Systems, Etc...) but dedicated to recent threads we've posted in. Sorry if i've overlooked it if it already exists.

There is a way you can do that now, but it's not at all obvious. If you choose "no email notification" in user cp>>options, then each thread you post in you will be subscribed to, but your inbox won't be inundated with new post emails (unless you want that, then choose 1 of the other options). Then you can click on subscribed threads in your userCP and get all the threads you've posted in, newest to oldest.

Sorry, I should've also mentioned there's a subscribed threads link in the quick links dropdown.

I think that's a much better idea. What's the point of marking threads read when they aren't?
