logging into the console? or terminal services?
Have you looked in the logs? Someone playing a practical joke and logging the workstation off via scheduled tasks? (I've done it...)
Any group policy being applied? Look at the resultant set of policy on that machine.
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.

LOL Phish
This could be way off, but have you installed any programs that might require an automatic restart? Perhaps after installing updates?

I have done a couple other practical jokes that I liked too... Like taking a screen shot of their desktop and then moving all icons in a folder on the desktop (that is also in the screenshot). Then setting the background to the screen shot and laugh while they try to click on their desktop icons that is really wallpaper.
more fun with scheduled tasks: set the mouse buttons to swap every 10 minutes... this one is mean.
physically swap the M and N keys on the keyboard (only affects those who "peck" at the keyboard and have to look while typing.
set the autocorrect feature of word/excel to modify certain words to something other than what they're supposed to be.
many more... but those are what comes to mind at the moment

You might check the powersaving settings?
Also, if it is a real problem rather than someone pulling your chain, go into your BIOS and turn off the quick boot and reboot on error settings so you get full messages?
Somewhere I have a great BSOD screensaver............ it even runs a very realistic looking DrWatson
