    apple seeds contain cyanide.

    In fact, a lot of fruit seeds do.

    Interesting about potatoes and such. They are all members of the Solanaceae family, and as such contain the poison solanine (C45H73NO15).

    I guess we have:

    Potato
    Pepper
    Aubergine (egg plant)
    Nightshade
    Henbane
    Bittersweet
    Tomato
    Thornapple/Jimson weed (datura stramonium)

    Nightshade also contains a fair dose of atropine, which is the real killer in its case.

    Along the same lines, rhubarb stems are quite edible, but the leaves contain enough oxalic acid to take you out!

    That's not true. It's actually because of the organisms in your mouth that produce acid after feeding on the sugar.
