    ACER battery recall

If you, or anyone you know has an Acer laptop you might like to check this battery recall information:

    http://www.acerbatteryrecall.com/AcerWeb/

Apparently there is a risk of them catching fire.

It is taking a while for the technology to be developed, but this is a potential solution. Apparently using phosphates or whatever gets over the risk of thermal runaway?

Don't surf the internet in bed. You'll burn the house down.
And to think I was contemplating buying a laptop for my
wife because she had a friend who had one, and said
it was so convenient checking her email from bed.
Come to think of it, that's the friend who had a bad house fire.
I wonder what caused it. Anyway, laptops are evil, spawn of
    the devil.
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

just swap your ordinary bedding for fire blankets. Problem solved.

It is a very bad idea to use a laptop in bed.

    1. You get all sorts of lint sucked into it.
    2. Bedclothes obscure the ventilation and block the airflow so it overheats.
    3. You doze off, and kick it off the bed (they don't like that as it happens )

Anyway, laptops are evil, spawn of the devil.
Quite right too!........... can't get the parts, skin your knuckles...........

I only have a very old one that boots Windows 95................. I enjoy doing that............. it will get me in the right frame of mind for my next tour of duty at Guantanamo Bay
