    Rootkit Detective: Beware!!!

    McAfee launched their new anti-rootkit product on Thursday:

    It should be approached with extreme caution as it is not your average "fire and forget" no brains application. You are likely to get a lot of false positives as it "learns" so just deleting things that it questions is a pretty sure way to trash your system.

    I would recommend that you treat it similarly to HijackThis! and thoroughly research what it turns up before taking any action.

    too bad its not vista compatable.
    Plenty of other rootkit detectors that are vista compatable, I'll stick with those.
    Thanks for the heads up though.
