boot from a dvd drive on network
hi. can smbdy tell me how to boot a linux dvd from a dvd drive present in a network. my pc doesn't hv dvd drive but another pc on my network has it. is there some way i can boot my pc from that dvd drive with linux dvd in it?
plz help

actually i wanna install linux on my pc for which i need to boot my pc with the linux dvd. my pc is currently running win xp. i wanna boot it with the dvd drive on the network. cn u help me with it

Why not unplug the dvd drive from the other computer, plug it into the needed computer install the distro then once that is done then return the dvd player/burner to the original computer..

Just set the DVD Drive on the other PC as a network share and refer to my first post.
Or easier solution is that of t34b4g5

Another possibility might be to create an installation CD or CDs?

or as said in another thread, buy a dvd drive they aren't expensive.
If the world doesn't stop annoying me I will name my kids ";DROP DATABASE;" and get revenge.
