    I think that it will

That sounds like 2048 bit encryption to me? (256 x 8) AFAIK that is considered unbreakable with current technology?

If thats is the case it is a public/private key kind of setup and yes its near impossible to crack if it is encrypted with a good password.

I think its time for you to ask your buddy for a hint

I looked at the txt file, and it seems there is a lot of repeating of several didget numbers, so it could be a possiblity of substitution of multiple characters for one. that 2mb encryption may be bull..

    Hmmm,

All lines have a leading zero, so that is probably irrelevant? 5189 looks like punctuation or a space?

It is a song, hymn, prayer or poem

Just curious but why would your friend give you a challenge to decrypt something if you have no idea on encryption? If he wanted you to learn then he would teach you

    Anyways, on to the subject.

Yeah it doesnt look like this is really 2048 encryption. Just too many repititions. There are 24 occurrences of '078695101' all at the beginning of each of the 24 lines found. Similar goes for pretty much any grouping of digits.

You might want to ask your friend some more info.

Me thinks Nihil might be on to something
