Most of the time you can highlight them individually and hit the delete button. If you want to get all of them go to Tool > internet options> and clear search forums.
Hope that helps.

OK emma, welcome to AO by the way,
If you want to develop a cleaning routine for your machine, please let us know. They vary depending on operating system, browser and so on.
At this stage I would suggest that you look at the following applications:
CCleaner:
http://www.ccleaner.com/
It is free, and removes a lot of unwanted stuff from your machine. This should (in theory) help to maintain performance and stability of your machine as well as clearing out some of the "nests of vipers" where malicious programs like to hide
OK I am a fan of this one:
http://www.winpatrol.com/
It has great cookie management

i agree. ccleaner is really good. it even has an option for secure deletion, upto seven passes i think. you should also try
Advanced Windows Care
http://www.download.com/Advanced-Win...ml?tag=lst-0-6
its kind of an all in one utility. spyware removal and protection, registry cleaner, system optimizer, and more.
