How to download Youtube videos without any Third party software.
Most of the time when you are trying to download videos from youtube either you have to use a third party software or you have to post the link to auto-download site which will download and convert it for you. The problem with these kind of software or third party sites are that they don’t always work if a video is flagged by google for adult content or for whatever reason.
Today we will download Flv format videos from youtube with a simple javascript.
First we will goto youtube and choose a video to play. I chose this one:

It’s a video of Trinity using Nmap in Matrix Reloaded. While playing the video we we will add this site in to out favourites and we will edit the favourites properties with this javascript:

use opera web browser
find where it's cache4 is
it stores youtube as opXXXX.tmp
drag on to desktop (or where ever) change .tmp to .flv
play in your favorite player!!

It's just one software but it downloads, and converts youtube video into excellent windows videos and other video formats.

wouldn't the firefox plug in for flash get work for this?

kiss youtube
if you find a video that you want to download just type 'kiss' in front of youtube and it'll take you to a download page.
i.e.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNytWRgcJ-M
becomes
http://www.kissyoutube.com/watch?v=UNytWRgcJ-M

I use a Firefox plugin, VideoDownloadHelper. Works like a charm and on other types of media too.
