    Encryption software with Vista

My current copy of PGP doesn't work in Vista and I'm wondering if it's the best choice anyway, to encrypt email and files, also shredding.

    What would anyone recommend?

Not built into email clients like thunderbird - you can encrypt files, but that's about it.

    Ah!

Perhaps this will work as it is supposed to be cross-platform and the latest version is less than a month old.

As it is a plugin to the mail client rather than a stand alone application, I would expect it to work if the mail client does. I have only seen it working under XP and 2000 myself, but it should be worth a look?

It is also supposed to be PGP compatible

N.B. It is for Thunderbird and Sea Monkey only.

Whoa! I downloaded the OpenPGP signature, then attempted the Enigmail download but it wanted to install as a Firefox extension which isn't what I had in mind. I don't suppose OpenPGP signature is enough?

    I'm not too sure.

I think that you need to change account settings in Thunderbird to get it to use enigmail?

    Hi there Beee,

    1. Does that work with the Vista OS?
2.Will it integrate seamlessly with Thunderbird?

TrueCrypt works great with vista OS (at least the home version)
but I don't use Thunderbird so I can't say yes or no on that...
