It reminds me of a saying we have over here:
"Red sky at night, shepherds' delight. Red sky in the morning, shepherds take warning"
Naturally I modify it to: "Red sky at night, shepherd's delight..........or his house is on fire"

the system over the past 4-5 centuries has been perfected to the level that even today by observing the wind speed and the change in directions one comes to know how far one is from a storm (if one is about to be formed), if there is goin to be any pressure and temperature change etc etc.

Nice pics JPnyc...
I have always been able to tell when a storm is coming....
I believe it is innate
and some people just pay more attention to the weather
Right now...I am in a blizzard
It was a reddish dawn this morn
