I wouldn't have expected the CMOS battery to give up within 3 years of being new. I've never ever had a computer long enough for the CMOS battery to give out.

Interesting?? Give me working and finished with above interesting! I'd rather be doing things for my own benefit, not spending an entire week on two computers, neither of which are going to be for my use!

In fact I haven't checked the system logs - the fact that it's now working will do me. There's plenty else to be getting on with! I might just have a look though as I realise I meant to set it so it didn't automatically restart on error.

Edit Nothing relevant in the system logs.

    need help

hello i play the game counter strike and when i go into the game it says input not support with a little white box and screen goes black. My computer is a windows xp. I got this problem because i was screwing around with zooming the views in the game. If i could get into the game i could set them back to normal but i cant. Ive tried right clicking the screen and going to properties and making it 16, 800x600 and 75hz but still doesnt work.

Thanks and get back to me=)

    Hmmm,

My guess is that the game is storing some settings, and these are not supported?

Try creating a new Windows user profile and a new player.

Can you get into the game if you boot into safe mode?
