    Hello

    hey hows its going,

ive known about this site for a while. but i barely ever come here. so in essense you could say that im new here also, im extremely fresh to the network security, OS, programming, "scene". im 24 and going through the steps right now for financial aid for the local tech college in my town. im going for network specialist. first, and more likely then not , just progressing as i see fit, more knowledge more choices, better able to make more correct decisions
ive thought about what i want to do with my life (I WANNA ROCK, sorry ,stupid song, stupid saying, lulz). ive loved computers since i knew what they were, first used one , ol mac apple 2 in mid school for stupid **** oregon trail, word processor , through elementary school, and middle school, freshman yr, highschool, 1996, i was fortunate enough to , get familiar with windows 95 with others friends PC, thx partly to the awesome that was the original doom, around the era of the original intel pentium , ol sock 7 **** lulz. And the more i learn the more i discovered i loved the entire concept of the computer, right now , im trying to get a good job, that will pay my bills, support my habits , and let me progess further down the IT SPIRAL. im going on the belief that i assume that the hardware aspect of the IT field is easier to grasp , faster to learn, and hopefully easier to get a reasonable starter career, as a net tech, computer specialist, either fixing systems, or troubleshooting, or maintaining a few simple servers, data, security. As i progress through school, its my hope that i gain a firmer grasp on the software, programming side of this IT revolution.
As i grew older, ending of my teens, age 20+ i slowly began to wake up to our world. the politics, the problems, the government, religion. existence, and evolution of our species , in my opinion is in peril. Its my hope that, as school begins, i can begin to teach myself, into a endless cycle of knowledge i want to see i want to know. political exploitation on a grand scale, cyber anarchy for the greater man , is my final goal. if i have to become another number inside uncle sams, pumpkin patch, ITS NOT MY ****ING PLAN TO GET LOCKED UP , but face it there trying to build a ****ing prison, and IM GONNA TRY TO STOP THIS ENDLESS TYRANNY, its my belief , that with the help of UBER GODLIKE knowledge of IT, one can at least attempt to make an impact for the better of man. this aint some ****ing diatribe , this aint ****ing fight club. im not indirectly asking for some kind of emotional help or therapy. im not lying, and im not just some bullshitter, or a TROLL.

this is my manifesto , and to hell to all those who say it cant be done, i only wanna be a happy man when i die, i only wanna know that i gave something to this green earth , and i didnt rape it , i didnt lie cheat n steal, what can be done , when will it all mean nothing - capitalism , communism , chisitanity , islam. BIG BROTHER AND BIG BUSINESS. its 2007 going into 2008 . THERES NO BETTER TIME TO GET TO KNOW

    INFORMATION TECHONOLOGY
    KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
    LURK MOAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry for all the typos, i type endlessly , my mind sometimes just spits **** out
besides dont be such a GRAMMAR NAZI

Hi there synobite, and welcome to AO.

My advice at this stage in your learning is to concentrate on picking up and understanding the underlying principles. Whilst specifics change with time and technology, the concepts upon which they are founded generally do not.

Avoid the temptation to specialise too early and to compartmentalise your knowledge. Everything is part of a bigger picture
