Please Explain!!!
Okay I know the I probably shouldn't have made a new thread about the same problem, but I didn't like that thread and what it had become...
The problem is fixed
Okay I could not believe this! I tried all sorts of apps that connect to the internet through various ports, with no success. Re-installed the OS, and still didn't work.
*insert drum roll*
My friend changed the time and date, because it said it was like 1:30 AM in the year 2000. He changed it to the correct time and date and now it all works flawlessly!
could someone please explain how this is?

y2k bug.
It would be helpful if you linked to or quoted your problem for those of us that missed the first thread...
In general, I've known the date/time to be the source of a lot of odd problems at work. It's on the list of things I check and reset when I computer is having issues. If you were to ask me why/how it has strange effects, I couldn't tell you. All too many times I know how to fix something without actually knowing why it's fixed.

Ha, now it is on my list of things to check as well, I know Microsoft to has some odd problems, but this is the first time I have ran accross this.
Time to hit google and research why this anomaly occurs...
If someone else would like to help, with an explination that would be great.
