    Russian Business Network (RBN) cybercriminals

Ive just been reading about the RBN and all of their activities, and find it suprising that nobody seems to be doing anything about it. theyre involved in various types of phishing scams, spam, child porn, etc. for anyone unfamiliar you can visit the wikiepdia link

isnt there anything we can do about this. i dont have many suggestions but perhaps DoSing their websites, trying to hack their servers?

Well, two wrongs do not make a right. Sensible sites and ISPs will already have filtered their IP address range.

I agree that it is not "simple" if you take that to mean "permanent". Every move you make only encourages them to find a different route, I am afraid

There are a number of good "antispam" type sites around and you have to constantly monitor them to stay up to date with the latest threats.

There are two major problems with any attempts at "vigilante" action in my opinion:

    1. It is probably illegal under your local legislation.
    2. The "target" may well be a "victim" themselves?

    This problem will remain whilst:

    1. The Russian and Chinese governments continue to ignore the issue.
    2. People continue to run insecure systems.

Unfortunately, that is a fact of life

    Cheers

Neither suggestion is in the least bit practical. These guys are a commercial organisation and the only people with the resources to DoS them are those with bot armies, who are themselves criminals. It isn't going to happen.

Again, give what these guys are up to and host, don't you think that their resources are going to be totally locked down?

Dozens of Phishing sites have been defaced. Alot of people have resorted to flooding to take these sites down aswell. It's been done before; back to the adolescent drawing board.
