Unhappy Audio Drivers & Direct X

    My system as follows:
    COMPAQ PRESARIO SR2020NX
    WINDOWS XP MEDIA EDITION

1.) Accidentally deleted audio drivers with software application called REANIMATOR 5.6.5.930 by RegRun while combatting a virus.

2.) Installed audio drivers for my computer, but doesn't show as being installed.

3.) Installed latest direct-x drivers version 10 after installing audio drivers. Took a screen shot of direct-x diagnostics report regarding direct sound tab located here :
    http://aycu37.webshots.com/image/390...0613840_fs.jpg

4.) Also deleted msiexec.exe so maybe that is reason for problems with install...

    5.) please help...

Direct-X won't work if the drivers don't work..

Did you use the compaq drivers (SPxxxxx)?

Any devices with question marks in the device manager? Remove them and reboot..

yes thank you I did both those links, but no dice (no pun intended) Yes Dice SP26334, SP26792 (the one provided in link by Arpanet), and even SP32646.

my windows installer is ok now I restored that file MSIEXEC

my 1 problem now is that I have this file called MCHINJDRV.sys detected by reanimator. any feedback on that would be appreciated.

    still cannot install drivers...

what firewall/av programs are you using, from what I gather it is a legit injection driver...

not sure if killing the process would help, I would try rolling back drivers on something small then updating that to see if it is just these drivers etc...

also what is the size of the .sys file?

    blah

I'm not so sure cuz the file is supposedly located here
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

but it only shows on the reanimator as being prohibited, and not in the directory itself

Do I need legacy drivers also ?
