I want to track an IP address
hi please help me i want to trace the ip address from where is somebody sending me scrap
i have only available the scraps. nothing except that.
plz help

Dig and whois are enough to "trace" an IP address.
But you'd only be able to find out which ISP it belongs to.

The basic problem is you might be dealing with a proxy, a zombie or an unsecured wireless node.
Try the whois on this site:
http://www.dnsstuff.com/
But bear in mind the reservations I have suggested.

I'm assuming that you are talking about orkut scraps. There's no way for you to find the ip address of someone who has scrapped you, Unless you belong to some kind of law enforcement agency and get orkut to do it for you. Cybr1d and nihil have a point. What exactly do you intend to do with the ip and are you sure the person who scrapped you didn't use a proxy ?
