    Online DRM Dying?

Like a Neanderthal emerging from the primeval forest blinking at the sunlight, Sony BMG have decided to jump into bed with Amazon who will offer their products copy and platform free.

Hey, they just made the 20th. Century............... will they go the extra mile.

Also note the comment on their home baked "Platinum" offering.

Looks to me like a case of "If you cant beat them, join them"

    More of the same here:

Just a guess here, but might it be because the almighty iTunes started offering DRM-free songs a while ago?

Possibly, but don't you need Apple stuff to play iTunes?

Also, Sony BMG is a record label whereas iTunes is not?

At this point though it does seem to be a positive move in the right direction, and particularly interesting as it comes from one of the most diehard supporters of DRM.
