Convert from NTFS to Fat32 & back?

    Hey all

    Have a quick question.

With Panda Internet Security 2008 there is an option to create a rescue disk. This includes the virus signature file. It is a bootable floppy or CD/DVD. It will boot , scan your drives and clean etc etc.

    One Problem!

It only works on fat32 fs. Really stupid of Panda not to support ntfs, but anyway.

    My question is.

Is it possible to convert from ntfs to fat32 , scan the drives and then convert back to ntfs without any problems?

If it is possible can it be done from a boot up CD without going into windows?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    I don't think that's possible w/out formatting...

Panda should've thought that through a little bit--most regular-joes on NT-based M$ and up use NTFS (I mean it's great for those runnin older M$ i guess).

---------i say don't bother with it until Panda fixes that (i.e. use somethin else--but don't you work for Panda?)

Nope, not possible. The only way would be to backup everything, reformat and restore backup.

    Have a look at NTFS4DOS http://www.freewarefiles.com/NTFSDOS...ram_11100.html

Actually, Partition Magic will convert NTFS to FAT32, with some caveats.

Personally, I don't think it's worth a try, but if you do, back everything
up on the unit you do this on (I'd ghost it). And remember, FAT32 chokes
on any partitions over 32gb, so it's pretty useless coverting oversized
    partitions. HTH.
