    Lightbulb Apple Darwin OS Install

    hey guys,

I really want to install the Darwin OS, from Apple, on a partition on my HDD. So, I was hoping that someone would be kind enough to provide me with a step-by-step guide. Of how to build, compile and install Darwin from source. The source code can be found at http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/10.5.2/.

I've never done anything like this before, I've only installed from .iso images. Which is why I would really apprciate someone 'walking' me through the process. Everyone, has to start somewhere, right?

    Thanks in advance,

I would be surprised if anyone is able to give you a quick step by step guide as it seems like this would be a pretty involved task. Have you verified it will run on your hardware? http://developer.apple.com/documenta...win/index.html

Ye sure, I have checked that Darwin will work on my hardware, and the x86 source code should work fine.

I'm not expecting the step-by-step guide to be a quick guide, just a comprehensive guide of how to compile and install an OS from source. I just really want to learn.
