    Firefox troubles

    I started using firefox the other day and I gotta say I really like it....(add-ons are great) One problem I see though is that it loads pictures and thing kinda slow. I googled it and made these changes:

    with the about:config command

    browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs = true
    browser.xul.error_pages.enabled = true
    network.dns.disableIPv6 = true
    network.http.max-connections 48
    network.http.max-connections-per-server 24
    network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy 12
    network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server 6
    network.http.pipelining = true
    network.http.pipelining.maxrequests 32

    I even loaded the fasterfox add on and it still runs slow. When I refresh the page it load faster, but i do not wish to do that every time.. Any tips?

    Are you running the ZoneAlarm firewall, by chance?. I had the same thing happen to me, as far as slowdown goes. Giving Firefox full permissions (in the firewall settings) solved it for me. That's not entirely safe unless you have fully active AV/anti-Spyware working. Adding on the Adblock Plus extension to Firefox also helps.

    What security software are you running? Apart from ZoneAlarm, Spybot S&D's teatimer/immunisation can cause issues.

    I saw this:

    You can have too many and they might not all play nice with each other or other applications you have running.

    Have you looked at your RAM and CPU usage when this is happening?

    I guess the first thing I would do is create a new profile with only basic add-ins if any. NoScript and AdBlock are the two I generally use. If that makes a difference then it is an add-in issue of some sort.

    What are your system specs and what OS are you using?
