Fileshare Beware
There is a major trojan doing the rounds of fileshare sites:
Since Friday 2 May, more than 500,000 instances of the Trojan have been detected on PCs.
The malicious MP3 music or Mpeg video files have appeared on popular file-sharing services such as Limewire and eDonkey. Firms should be concerned as employees often access such file-sharing networks on corporate machines.
Story is here:

How "convenient" for the RIAA and MPAA?

I always open downloaded files sandboxed in Sandboxie first after scanning them with AV software. I watch the Sandboxie process window to make sure no other processes are started. This way if the file is bad and possibly a new virus or malware i can see it try to install where as just a AV scan could miss it. Also if the file is malicious it will be contained in the sandbox profile which can just be deleted. Just a thought.

My understanding is they have their own "trojan-laden" versions. Never
play anything from P2P in Windows Media Player.
