    need to remove qbot

Surfing on a legitimate website my CPU usage suddenly shot up and i saw the process _qbotnti.exe running. I killed the process and found its installed stuff in a folder called _qbothome. Only problem is i cant delete the files and also cannot find any registry keys. More importantly, this is an undetected version and so cannot remove it with any spyware, antivirus, etc. So does anyone know of a way I can manually remove it forever? I also have a suspicion its working as a rootkit as well. I went into the password dump files in the folder and wrote "F**K OFF" in them, so that should hold the botnetmaster away for a while

    Try this site:

    http://www.diamondcs.com.au/freeutilities.php

Free stuff to kill processes and "DelLater", which zaps files on reboot

    EDIT:

Go here and submit your HJT! log for analysis:

If you cannot do someone any good: don't do them any harm....
As long as you did this to one of these, the least of my little ones............you did it unto Me.

Wow, you got a lot of BHO's running! WTF.

Anything with a (file missing) in the line can go.

Chit, you are/were running Morpheus? Naughty, naughty. Run torrents
or don't run any P2P at all.

SysEnforce as a service? That can go.

I'm not seeing much else but time is short and I'm skimming. Try a
rootkit tool like Blacklight if you think that's a problem.

You need a more secure browser. Try Firefox with NoScript. It's a
pain at first but well worth the protection it affords. That, or really
    button down IE.

If you find a process and can't kill it, try Killbox:

    http://www.killbox.net/

HTH, will try to have a longer look tonight.
