How can we increase the downloading speed of torrents

    Hey Guyz..

I download movies, music from torrents etc.....

but even if i have 3000 to 4000 seeders i still get the download speed of 2kb average

the maximum reach is 12kb instead my downloading speed of an average is 60kb.

if i want to download this musics and movies on the high speed. What is it that i can do without a risk involvement.

I know one thing that i can do is port forwarding but i will would be opening my door to hackers by port forwarding

Open a port in your firewall/router. Usually it's port 6882 for torrents..

Yes, opening a port would increase the risk. But as long as there's no exploit or bug in the P2P software you're using it should be ok.

And? Some movies/music can be legally distributed for free...
Besides, even downloading copyrighted movies/music isn't illegal in some countries (like mine)..

    Hi nihil,

    Nice link and information

i tried that out but it actually didnt worked for me speed was still the same and where as i have around 28(2946) seeders and 9(2031) peers so resources are not the problem for the speed to be low.

Port forwarding is other option but i guess for movies and music i should not risk my computer

I also use limewire but limewire has never given a issue of speed it has actually reached upto 90kb and above

what is the difference in this to P2P softwares?

how does limewire generate this speed and not other p2p softwares??
