    Publishing a book

Has anyone ever published a book before?

I wanted to see if anyone was successful in doing so, how much it cost them, who they went through, etc.

Just West of Beantown, though nobody from Beantown actually calls it "Beantown."

    Not yet.....

I know that after researching it a bit, it can be pretty tough to get published. Most of the time you need an agent to submit your manuscript to the publishers for you.

What kind of book is it? If it's Sci-Fi, Tor Books will accept manuscript submissions. Check it out here.

    Hope that helps a little...

I work in the printing business, and my company has done printing
for them. You pay the printing costs, but since they can do short
runs, it is reasonably affordable for a new author. New authors
sometimes have to self-publish until they are discovered by a major
    publisher.
