mail notification of backup logs
guys I know this question is kind of off topic as it is not a security related question, but here it goes anyway..... I'm currently doing backups with ntpackup command line that comes with 2003 server, and I'm want those logs to be emailed to me after backup is done, and so far I've test "sendmail" and "mailsend" and they both present me with the same problem and that is that they give an error when trying to use wildcards like backup*.log as ntbackup keeps the last 10 backup, but if I use the actual name like backup01.log it works just fine, but not with wildcard... any help, suggestion welcome
thanks

Silly question but have you tried just using *.log instead?

Why not just send the last backup log?
Do you really need to have all ten days of backup logs mailed each day?

no, no actually I was deleting all backups logs before running the new backup, but you would think that the log would start back at 01, but now it would pick the number of the last backup... so what I did was to force the ntbackup app to write only one backup log through changes in the registry forcing it only to write backup01.log... and it worked just fine
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\NTbackup\Log Files\Log File Count
thanks
