MS command prompt and networking help

    Hi,
i'd anyone could show me how to access files on other computers using jst ur commmand prompt. i tried using 'net use' but it only works for a folder and all it shows is command completed successfully(not sure what the implication of that is...jst know it means some sorta connection was setup). i want to be able to access a file on another computer from the command prompt. Also is it possible to assign an ipadress to your ethernet card from the command-line?

    i use vista home premium...thanks

also i'd appreciate links to tutorials on using telnet and stuff when i type telnet in msdos nothing happens(i seem to remember it opening stuff up on other versions of windows)

You can make it print help information.

It needs to be enabled in Vista.

    Hi
Normally Net use connects a remote shared folder or drive to your computer. You can assign a drive letter to the shared folder with the command. You may also need to make sure you have the correct access to the remote folder you are trying to access also.
